BioMostly this journal falls into two halves: the public posts where I try to learn things by making arguments and discussions, and the private bit, where people I know IRL can chat to me and I can orgainise my social life. I will only add you as a friend if I know you in the real world. I tend to post quite a bit publicly.
General guidelines:
- I don't believe anything. My opinions are a constant swirl of best-fit models waiting to be corrected
- If you aren't ready to revise your opinions, why bother entering in discussion? Go and preach to those who agree with you. Discussions need to be a two-way exchange, or they don't work
- Everything is worth discussing. Nothing is sacred or given. Although some things are bad taste. And indelicate handling of issues likely to hurt people is not acceptable. There is never an excuse to be rude

About me: I live in Edinburgh with my wonderful girlfriend. I work as a general purpose construction professional. I love music, though don't do enough in that sphere as I'd like. I grew up in rural Cumbria. My ambition is to give back even a fraction of the joy I get from my friends
